What to check before you broker business sales — and why the platform asks every brokerage to confirm its own compliance.
Some states require a real estate license to broker business sales — particularly when real property is part of the transaction. Others regulate business brokers under separate statutes, and a few require no license at all for a pure business sale. Acting without the license your state requires can expose you to fines, cease-and-desist orders, and voided transactions.
Concord Deal Platform provides the venue, the listing tools, and the deal infrastructure. It does not verify or warrant any user's professional licensing, and it does not decide which states require what. At signup, every brokerage confirms — on its own responsibility — that it holds the licenses required where it operates. You can record your license state and number in your profile if you have them; it is optional and never a gate. See section 10 of the Terms for the full posture.
